InsCipher, an insurtech industry leader specializing in excess and surplus lines tax compliance, is pleased to announce that Becky Farthing, Compliance Officer, has been appointed to the Steering Committee for the Securities and Insurance Licensing Association (SILA).
Becky has over 18 years of experience in the insurance industry and has been a dedicated member of SILA, earning her SILA-Fellow designation in 2024. As a member of the steering committee, she will collaborate with other industry leaders, including lawyers, brokers, and compliance professionals with the goal of educating the insurance industry as a whole.
As noted on their site, “SILA is the ultimate non-profit association for insurance licensing and securities registration compliance professionals. Our educational and networking resources are second to none.” This group is a trusted source in influencing state laws and regulations and maintains strong relationships with legislators and policymakers.
Becky looks forward to leading learning sessions at the national educational conference and spearheading research that will be shared industry-wide. She has served as the Buckeye chapter co-chair since 2024 and will now step into the role of co-chair of the new Midwest Chapter. In addition, she is a member of the Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association InsurTech Committee.
Becky exudes InsCipher’s mission to push the surplus lines market forward through her dedication to these organizations. Over the past 9 years, InsCipher has supported SILA in various ways including sponsoring events; participating in webinars; contributing to course compliance materials; actively participating on the surplus lines subgroup; engaging in online forums; and serving on regional chapters and committees. InsCipher encourages employees to join SILA and takes the SILA designation very seriously. In fact, seven InsCipher employees have obtained a designation and/or certificate.
We are grateful for employees like Becky who are committed to furthering their education and driving the excess and surplus lines landscape forward.
