The Latest on IBM’s Partnership With Marsh—Clients to Have Access to Salesforce

Insurance brokerage and risk management firm, Marsh, announced in a press release on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2018, that its partnership with IBM will expand to include the use of the Salesforce platform.

Using IBM’s Blockchain Platform and its strategic relationship with Salesforce, Marsh will be able to extend its commercial proof of insurance blockchain solution and give its clients access to the Salesforce platform.

Marsh announced that the blockchain technology employed through this collaborative effort will allow users to access a “shared, immutable record of all the transactions that take place within a network.” This network will allow them to trust received data in real-time. The technology also enables users to create a network to provide proof of insurance verification on a broader scale than ever before.

This news is a continuation of an announcement made by Marsh in April of 2018 touting their collaboration with IBM to produce the first commercial proof of insurance solution.

The blockchain is built using Hyperledger Fabric technology and the IBM Blockchain platform. The project has also included ACORD, a global standards-setting body for the insurance industry, as well as ISN, a leading provider of contractor and supplier information management services.
