InsCipher Team Spotlight: Lara York, CPCU, Compliance Manager
InsCipher offers the best solutions for companies looking to stay compliant with their surplus lines tax filings. Why do we have the best solutions? Because we have the best team–a group of people who love what they do and have the experience to get the job done right.
How can we make such bold claims? Take, for instance, Lara York, our Compliance Manager. Lara is a compliance expert with 20+ years in the property/casualty industry who recently earned her CPCU designation, which is certainly no easy task. This extra effort demonstrates not only her desire for self-improvement but also a love for the industry and a desire to make a difference for the clients she serves.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, CPCU stands for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. This designation signifies a comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry in areas of accounting/finance, risk management, claims, actuarial, and more. To earn the CPCU, Lara had to complete eight different courses and exams, and each of these sections took months of study. It takes a high-level of smarts, persistence, and dedication to get through it all, and Lara brings this same energy into her work here at InsCipher.
What does Lara do for you as InsCipher’s Compliance Coordinator? Every day, she ensures that surplus lines tax rates and reporting requirements in InsCipher’s systems are up-to-date with the latest information from state surplus lines offices. Whether our Filing Services team manages your filings for you, or you use our Connect™ surplus lines filing software, Lara makes sure you are filing and reporting with the most accurate state information.
Attaining the CPCU designation gives Lara a valuable perspective in understanding the insurance industry, making her an essential asset on our team. Her training gives her an exceptional understanding of the needs of her clients to help them navigate the often murky waters of surplus lines insurance compliance. Congrats, Lara, on completing your CPCU designation! We are so glad to have you as a part of our InsCipher family!
